The National Standard Pre-evaluation Meeting for the Testing Method of Flexibility and Rubbing Performance of Flexible Packaging Materials" will be held in Jinan

      On July 27, 2021, the National Packaging Standardization Technical Committee presided over a national pre review meeting on the "Testing Method for Rubbing Resistance of Flexible Packaging Materials" in Jinan.

    

    China Packaging Federation, National Packaging Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Center (Tianjin), Shandong Province Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Research Institute, China Export Commodity Packaging Research Institute, Beijing Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Institute, Jinan Languang Electromechanical Technology Co., Ltd., Hangzhou Quality and Technical Supervision and Inspection Institute, Xiamen Jindewei Packaging Co., Ltd., Jiangxi Province Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Institute Experts and enterprise representatives from relevant industry units such as China National Petroleum Corporation Petrochemical Research Institute, Shunde District Tepugao Industrial Co., Ltd. in Foshan City, Lishui Lancheng Agricultural Testing Technology Co., Ltd., and National Packaging Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Center (Jinan) attended the meeting.


The meeting was chaired by Wang Li, Vice President of the China Packaging Federation and Secretary General of the National Packaging Standardization Technical Committee. The drafting unit of the standard, Jinan Languang Electromechanical Technology Co., Ltd., represented the working group to introduce the process of preparing the standard. The attending experts carefully discussed the standard content item by item and proposed modification suggestions.

    The experts at the review meeting requested the standard drafting working group to revise and improve the standards as soon as possible according to the opinions of the pre review meeting, and then submit them to all committee members for review.


    At present, there is no relevant standard for testing the rubbing performance of flexible barrier packaging materials in China. Due to the lack of standards, there is a lack of inspection basis for the production and use of flexible barrier packaging materials, especially composite films, aluminum plated films, and other materials, which poses hidden dangers to the packaging safety of downstream application chains. The formulation of this standard will fill the domestic gap and effectively solve the effective testing and evaluation of the rubbing resistance of flexible barrier packaging materials. It provides a basis for the comparison of the rubbing resistance of flexible barrier packaging materials, reduces the problem of damage caused by packaging materials not being able to rub during transportation, shelves, and other processes, and provides assurance for product quality in downstream application fields.


   The formulation of this standard provides a method for testing and evaluating the rubbing resistance of multiple types of flexible barrier packaging materials, which will be beneficial for ensuring the packaging safety of food and drug application chains, and thus generate huge economic and social benefits.
